Forming part of Willem Boshoff’s retrospective titled Word Woes the Visual Arts Master Class is a public programme led by artist Allen Laing in which participants will be guided in the creation of a book inspired by the exhibition. ‘The envisioned outputs may potentially bear similarities to a variety of Boshoff’s works, with ‘open books’ along the lines of the work Death of African Art (2014) or Ash (2017); ‘closed books’ along the lines of City Book (2006); a text-emphasis along the lines of Word Woes I (2014); or a collage-emphasis similar to Verskeur (1975) or Blue (2021)
